Rainy days are here

Weather is a great metaphor for life - sometimes it's good, sometimes it's bad, and there's nothing much you can do about it but carry an umbrella.

  1. we had a week of rain, lucky we were sick for it (well not so lucky because it is not nice being this sick) because it was so nice just to stay inside and enjoy sleeping in and listening to the rain...loving the sunny weather now though. xx love the quote!

  2. And there's the line "Like a rainbow after the rain, there's always a good thing after the pain."

  3. I once had a friend who, when it would rain (not pour), would insist that the rain couldn't make him wet: he'd walk with his back perfectly straight and say, see, see, it's not falling on me. I often think about that when it rains: recently, I was caught in the rain with no umbrella, and as I remembered how he used to say that, the rain didn't seem so terrible, I stopped worrying if I'd look like a wet dog when I got to the exhibition I was going to - and put on a big smile. It was a beautiful walk. So about that weather, I totally agree, if we accept it, it ceases being so bad. Just yesterday someone was saying that about the heat: we know it is hot, so we should just take it really slow and not hurry anywhere. And then it stops being so bad...

    1. Next time it rains I would like to try what your friend did--walk instead of run. There's so much elegance in walking under the rain. :)
