After what seems like a cruel, eternal summer comes the rainy season. I am a pluviophile, someone who finds peace and comfort during rainy days. Hence, I welcome this season with gratitude. Hardly my favourite season, summer sucks my soul dry and I often find my temper soaring with the heat. In contrast, the wet season keeps me calm, balanced and more productive and creative.
Rain makes me happy. I love raindrops cascading from tin rooftops. I love the playful splashing of puddles and the over-all feeling coziness that rainy days brings. My cats in particular get extra snuggly and that makes me extra happy!
On a rainy weekend like this, I just stay in bed reading a new book or watch K-dramas on Netflix. In between, I revisit my Google Keep list seeking to materialize the creative daydreams that have been simmering all summer.
I love bicycles and adore cats! So when I found these super cute cats on bikes throw pillow cases, I knew I had to get them for the craft room. My fave is the autumn cat with coffee-to-go!
A bought a set of plain wooden peg dolls from a local craft bazaar a couple of months ago and promptly forgot about where I stashed it. Earlier last week, I found them under a pile of yarn and fabric in a box tucked inside one of my craft room cupboards. So what is it to love about peg dolls? For one thing, they make the best rainy day crafts. June month has arrived and that means one thing in the tropics-lots and lots of torrential rain!
Tiny tubs of poster paint, a bit of water, some yarn and glue and ta-daa--I've made some new craft room decor. Say hello to the teeny weeny craft room peg doll family!
Once in a while you discover a magazine that you feel was created just for you. That is how I feel when I got my hands on the digital edition of Project Calm. This magazine has everything that I consider close to my heart like crafts, creativity, relaxing DIY projects, mindful lifestyle and more. I also adore the super cute cover illustrations of this cleverly designed magazine. Browsing through its pages is relaxation therapy in itself as the themes and topics induce a sense of calm and peace.
